Non-Intersecting Diverging Runways Separation under Emergency Avoidance Situation

Although runway separation, based on the probability of collision, has been studied for decades, mathematical methods proposed by majority studies cannot handle complex situations, such as operation non-intersecting diverging runways at an airport with multiple runways. By applying a combination method computer simulation and collision calculation, arrival departure window (ADW) separation multi-runway was under emergency avoidance (EA) situation. Combining example 01L/19R 11L Beijing Daxing Airport, ADW settings airport’s northward southward operations were determined to meet target level safety. Moreover, effects range-type parameters quantified. When EA maximum speed limit minimum climb rate 200 kt (102.9 m/s) 10%, respectively, results that no required operation, from 3.2 km 7.1 operation. Furthermore, showed could more accurately describe nominal trajectories aircraft improve precision calculation. Meanwhile, sensitivity analysis help airports air traffic control facilities set reasonable constraints theoretical capacity, while satisfying practical feasibility.
